Total Body Boxing and Kickboxing: Feel the Burn

When searching for a way to get into shape, you want something fun, exciting, and with additional benefits. Boring, repetitive routines lead to exercise burn-out, causing you to lose interest and stop working out. Why are boxing and kickboxing classes gaining such popularity? According to Mike Fortun, owner, "Boxing and kickboxing are two of the most challenging cardiovascular workouts in which one can participate. Constant movement of your body in combination with striking in boxing and kickboxing forces you to keep your whole body engaged. Using multiple muscle groups in a single movement will strengthen, tone, and define your whole body, especially the core area? the results are tremendous." Boxing and kickboxing reduce stress, boost confidence levels, and provide an energy boost.

Classes last approximately one hour and are taught by trained boxers and kickboxers. During each class you will be hitting and kicking one hundred pound heavy bags and participating in intensive full body training. Classes are offered at different skill levels, from first-timer to experienced boxer. Fortun says, "We encourage people to go at their own pace starting out, but facilitate a competitive environment to challenge even the most 'fit' athletes."

Choose movements, exercises, or activities that you enjoy doing! There are so many great ways to stay active. That's what our power hour is all about." He also says that great results come from consistency; stick to a schedule and avoid excuses to miss your workouts. Having an accountability partner can help you stay motivated and allow you to track weekly progress.
