Known as the "Theme Park Capital of the World," the Orlando, Florida metro area abounds with attractions. However, theme parks -- Walt Disney World Resorts, Universal Orlando, Legoland -- are not the only reason tourists come to the area. Visit these top five must-see attractions in the greater Orlando area.

  1. Chocolate Kingdom - Follow the bean to the bar from Cacao Tree Greenhouse to Mystical River of Chocolate with a prince and his dragon as tour guides. An interactive chocolate adventure where you can even create a customized chocolate bar.
  2. Orlando Science Center - Part of downtown Orlando, the non-profit science center is has been around for 58 years and has grown in popularity and size. On four floors complete with a science store and cafe, the center educates on science and technology through live programs, hands-on exhibits, giant film screens and sky watching.
  3. Kennedy Space Center - For those who want to know more about America's space exploration, this is the place to be. From astronaut encounters to IMAX films, the space shuttle Atlantis and Angry Birds Space Encounter, since 1967 the space center has educated all ages on the science of the cosmos.
  4. Gatorland - What's a trip to Florida without seeing some native wildlife? Billed as "The Alligator Capital of the World," Gatorland has been owned by the same family for more than 60 years. Enjoy the 110-acre wildlife preserve and theme park starting with the famous gator-teeth entrance and featuring alligators and crocodiles (including a few rare "white" alligators) in their native environment. The park section includes a small-animal petting zoo, a zip line for the more adventurous and an aviary.
  5. AirHeads Trampoline Arena -Try something completely different next time you need to get out of the weather. Jump on a giant trampoline and see just how high you can get. Play air trampoline games, such as Dodgeball, Basketball or Volleyball. Arcade games complete with prizes round out the fun.
