The Gabriel Center for Massage Therapy has You in Mind

By Elisha Neubauer

Jim and Rebecca Gabriel have always been pioneers in their field of study.

Always wanting to achieve more, push boundaries, and find more inclusive methods of healing, the couple has had the wellbeing of others in the forefront of their minds. Gabriel Center for Massage Therapy, located in Sarasota, California, gave them the reason to keep the drive alive.

When it comes to excelling in the area of natural health, they certainly have the experience to do it. With high quality education and a slew of successes in their pockets, the Gabriel couple definitely seems to know a thing or two.

"My original massage therapy training was done here in Sarasota and I graduated from the Sarasota School of Natural Healing Arts thirty-eight years ago, just as I was completing training with Paul St. John in Neuromuscular Therapy," said Jim Gabriel. "Shortly thereafter, my wife Becky and I moved to Atlanta, GA where we opened the first Neuromuscular Therapy Center in Georgia in 1982."

That wasn't enough for the couple, though. In 1991, they launched the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts. The ASHA was a state authorized school of clinical massage therapy which offered a comprehensive curriculum previously unavailable in the U.S.

"We also helped to launch several statewide natural healthcare organizations like the American Massage Therapy Association Chapter in Georgia," Gabriel said.

In 2004, the power couple returned to their roots, launching the Gabriel Center in Sarasota. The center is a microcosm amalgamation of what the pair had started in Atlanta. They worked to create a place where clients could feel comfortable and safe. The Center features holistic therapies provided by skilled practitioners. Natural healthcare products are available for purchase and classes in self-care/well-being are presented for the community.

Everything about the Center is designed to evoke a comforting experience for clients. The atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant, and each staff member is excited to serve and/or treat you.

"We are excited about the state-of-the art technologies and modalities that we have gathered to help people overcome pain, inflammation, injury, postural breakdown and all manner of dysfunction and disease," Gabriel said.

The Center offers a range of services including B-12 injections, computer assisted microcurrent, cranial-structual work, advanced clinical massage therapies as well as lymphatic and relaxation massage. Consultations are complimentary and are designed to develop a treatment plan specifically for your needs.
