Tee Up in the Footsteps of Legends at Boca West Country Club

By Elizabeth R. Elstien

Named as "The nation's No. 1 private residential country club," Boca West Country Club offers members golf, tennis, restaurants and spa/aquatic/fitness facilities on 1,400 acres of lush tropical landscaping. Serving members since 1971 and located in between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, this member-only country club "occupies prime real estate that is integrated within the boundaries of a country-club setting," says Public Relations Representative Elizabeth Kelley-Grace, and is "nestled among 54 luxurious residential villages.

Its Boca Raton residences house nearly 3,500 families in a mix of housing from single-family homes and townhomes to villas, patio homes and garden apartments. The private villages are bordered by the Club's four golf courses, dozens of tennis courts, cooling waterways and plenty of wooded areas allowing its members to enjoy a range of activities.

Aside from its residential real estate, golf is king at Boca West Country Club. Kelley-Grace notes, "The golf experience overall is first rate." The Club has four 18-hole championship courses that take advantage of the natural rolling landscape and were designed by and named after a few of the best golf course architects ? Pete Dye, Jim Fazio and Arnold Palmer. There is also a 50-tee driving range and a four-acre short game area. Of course, each course has an individual pro shop and locker rooms for both women and men.

With its 30 tennis courts, Boca West Country Club has hosted the USTA French Open Wild Card Tournament. The Club also has training sessions handled by the USTA and Chris Evert Academy, as well as hosted numerous National Junior Tournaments. Members can also join their leagues and tournaments or partake of the tennis socials where you may meet a tennis legend.

The Boca West lifestyle is all about health and wellness. So after a vigorous tennis match or golf game, relax and unwind at the Club's spa or get pampered at the salon, where you will look your very best. The Aquatics Center is surrounded by the sound of relaxing waterfalls and tropical vegetation. It's your choice to take a dip in the hot tubs or get some exercise and swim a few laps. There is even an adults-only deck for reading, yoga, meditation or quiet contemplation.

The Club has begun a major renovation to its facilities costing upwards of $50 million that is scheduled for completion in late 2016. Kelly-Grace tells us, "Boca West's long-standing reputation for unparalleled amenities and services will be furthered at the new Club with a restaurant gallery, 5,000-square-foot golf shop and golf-cart staging area."
