Outlet Shopping in Orlando

By Elisha Neubauer

Orlando is a mecca of tourist attractions, fine dining, and of course, shopping. If shopping is your thing, you're in luck- there are multiple upscale malls, boutiques, and outlet shopping centers to choose from. So how do you choose where to start? While the malls in the Orlando area are well known gems, if you're a shopper on a mission, you may want to start with the Outlet centers. Outlet malls give you the best ability to get the brands you want, all in one place; and for one low price.

What is an Outlet Mall?

An outlet mall is a compilation of manufacturer owned stores that sell their product directly to the customer. By selling directly to the customer, outlet stores are able to sell product at a lower price. Outlet stores also contain outdated and/or clearance merchandise, as well as product designed specifically for the outlets.

The first multi-store outlet shopping center was opened by Vanity Fair in 1974. Since the 1980s, outlet mall shopping has grown in popularity. This growth has spawned a hefty increase of locations over the last two decades; going from 113 in 1988 to 472 in 2013. Although the trend began in the United States, outlet malls have been surfacing in Europe and Asia since the late 1990s.

Orlando International Premium Outlets

The largest outlet center in the southeast, Orlando International Premium Outlets plays host to over 180 designer and name brand stores. Located on Orlando's most popular stretch, International Drive, this center allows for easy accessibility and parking. International Premium is an open-air lifestyle center with plush seating, gorgeous fountains, and child-friendly play areas. The space accommodates over twenty eateries between its food court and attached restaurants. Lorena Garcia, area director of marketing for the Premium Outlets, refers to the store list as "modern and inspired." Stores such as 7 for all Mankind, BCBG Max Azria, Coach, Famous Footwear, Neiman Marcus, Fifth Avenue Off 5th, and Ted Baker London are some examples of what makes Orlando International Premium Outlets an ultimate shopping destination in Orlando.

Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets

Garcia describes this center as "a beautiful Mediterranean-inspired outdoor village." It is regarded as one of the country's most upscale outlet centers, offering over 160 luxury designers to tourists and locals alike. The Vineland Premium Outlets offer an enclosed free parking garage, covered seating areas, and sixteen food options. You can find stores such as Naturalizer, Armani Outlet, Barneys New York, Diesel, Fendi, Tory Burch, and Vera Bradley included in the compelling mix of shopping options at this location.

No matter what you are looking for, shopping at one of Simon's Orlando Premium Outlets is an enjoyable experience. Both centers house an extensive selection of stores that are sure to accommodate any budget or need. These centers represent the best in fashion, family, and home while offering extraordinary savings and relaxing, luxury atmospheres. Whether you are shopping for yourself or someone else, you are bound to find what you need and more at one of the Orlando Premium Outlets- and you'll have fun doing it.
