Photos Speak for Themselves at April Peebles Photography

By Marina I. Jokic

Being a professional full-service studio, April Peebles Photography builds a relationship with its clients beyond just taking their photograph. As a commissioned artist, April takes great care to approach each project as a blank canvas which caters to the unique tastes of the client.

"When you book with me, you're not just getting someone who takes your money, takes your photo, and then you never hear from again," April said. "I believe in helping you turn your images into art, either in albums or for your walls, and I believe in building a [lasting] relationship with you and your family."

A member of the National Association of Professional Photographers, April has been recognized with the Expertise Award for Best Portrait Photographers in Jacksonville in 2016. Physically based in Fleming Island, 21 miles southwest of downtown Jacksonville, April Peebles Photography offers maternity, newborn, children, family, and beauty portraits.

April is especially well trained in newborn and baby portraiture, and can safely and effectively work with infants. She also likes to hone her storytelling abilities through creating scrapbooks for families that tell interesting vignettes.

Being part of people's lives through their photos is a privilege which April takes very seriously. Part of what makes her an excellent photographer is her ability to see each client as a unique individual and his or her experience as sui generis. Valuing the client's time is also important, and April conveys that through tailoring her services as necessary.

"As your commissioned photographer, I believe that displaying your portraits is important, and I know you have very little time to get to a computer, upload your files, figure out which ones would look best in which location and what sizes, and then finally put them on the wall when they arrive at your doorstep," she said. "This is why I take pride in being a full-service studio for you, from planning your dream session to completing quality control when the order comes in and arranging safe delivery of your items to you."

April's favorite sessions are those which give her the opportunity to capture unfolding emotions or the essence of a relationship. In order to capture subtle nuances, April uses some of the best equipment in the business.

"I shoot with Nikon D750 and D700 full-frame bodies and whole arsenal of Nikon lenses," she said. "Point and shoot cameras just couldn't capture a moving toddler without blur, and the horrible on-camera flash often gave them a startled and unattractive look; [in order] to capture beautiful and natural images of my children, I purchased my first pro camera in 2005 and haven't looked back."
