New Brews Are Always on Tap at 7venth Sun Brewery

By Pamela Sosnowski

No food is served at the 7venth Sun Brewery in Dunedin. There is no entertainment; no TVs, live music, or games. What the brewery does offer is a cornucopia of craft beer selections that is sure to impress any connoisseur of the sudsy invention.

"People enjoy coming to 7venth Sun Brewery because there is always something fresh and new on tap," says the brewery's Tasting Room Manager, Kat Davis. "We have three flagship beers that stay on tap almost all the time: Mangrove Double IPA, Time Bomb Session IPA, and Graffiti Orange Creamsicle Wheat. All of the other taps at our brewery feature small batch creative brews that get switched out as fast as people drink them. Most of these small batch beers are not available anywhere else but at our tasting room in Dunedin."

The brewery was opened in 2012 by Devon Kreps and Justin Stange, two friends who previously worked together at Sweetwater Brewing in Atlanta. The brewery and tasting room is open seven days a week, and the beer selections are constantly changing. Patrons can sample a flavor for as little as $2 for 4 ounces. A full-sized serving of 12 to 16 ounces never costs more than $5 a glass.

Some of the unique craft beer selections you'll find at the brewery include "Or It Gets the Gose Again," a salty cucumber-flavored brew; "Double Dragon," a deep hued beer that gets it flavor, color, and name from the red dragon fruit used to make it; and a variety of fruited, German-inspired weisse beers.

The brewery's most popular beer, says Davis, is its "Graffiti Orange" Creamsicle Wheat, "an American wheat ale with orange peel and vanilla bean."

During the summer, the brewery hosts a series of "7unday Market" events where several rotating flavors of beer are offered outside - making it a perfect, refreshing beverage for the hot summer days.

"Our brewery offers good beer and good conversation," says Davis. "People enjoy coming to 7venth Sun because it offers a laid back, casual atmosphere and some of the best quality beer in the state. Our varied selection of flavor and beer styles offers something for everyone, even 'non-beer drinkers.'"
