Maintain Your Shape at Amanda's Stroller Fitness

After having a baby, it's recommended that you get at least 150 minutes per week of aerobic activity, according to Amanda Miller.

Miller herself had given birth herself in 2016. So, thanks to a lifelong passion for sports and fitness and the need to stay active as the mother of a newborn, Miller created Amanda's Stroller Fitness in April 2016 as place where moms could get the exercise they needed while spending time not only with their babies, but with other moms in the community who needed help getting back into shape and feeling good themselves.

"I implemented some of my training techniques utilizing the stroller for strength training, as well as cardiovascular training done outdoors," said Miller, who is a certified personal trainer based out of Jupiter, Fla. "There are many body weight and functional exercises I created not only using the stroller, but also your baby."

Group fitness classes at Amanda's Stroller Fitness will have moms feeling fitter, stronger and more energetic, according to Miller. In addition to the physical benefits, postpartum depression can be prevented by working out, as well as an improvement in sleep habits and a reduction in stress. Abdominal muscles are strengthened and toned while mothers receive the energy boost they need at Amanda's Stroller Fitness.

"I have created a supportive atmosphere where you can spend time exercising and having fun with other moms," Miller said.

Baby circuit training, which is done indoors at the facility in Jupiter, is done with the usage of eight to 12 stations that are based on strength, endurance and cardiovascular training. Miller has it set up circuit style because it keeps your heartrate up and burns lots of calories. Moms can use their babies for the bodyweight exercises, but are also more than welcome to set them up in the play area right in the middle of the circuit training. Classes at Amanda's Stroller Fitness are catered to all groups of moms: those who are pregnant, those who have just given birth, and those who already have stroller-aged children.

Miller's passion for working out has created long-lasting benefits for all who attend Amanda's Stroller Fitness. Not only do the mothers who attend often becomes friends, they'll eventually set up playdates for their babies as they grow older.

"I have had such an amazing experience teaching these classes and never imagined it would turn out to be such a great thing," Miller said.
