LifeSong Community Church: Believe, Belong, Become

By Elizabeth R. Elstien

Jupiter is home to a small church that may be just what you are spiritually seeking. Located in the Abacoa community, LifeSong Community Church has begun a period of growth and renewal.

Since January, LifeSong has been affiliated with The North American Mission Board (NAMB), The North American Church Planting Foundation (NACPF), and The Florida Baptist Convention (FBC). These partnerships provide networks to help the church grow and prosper. Pastor Paul Whitfield moved to Jupiter with his family to take the helm and steer the congregation through this new beginning.

"We desire to continue to grow without losing the family feel of a small congregation," explains Whitfield. "We are excited for 2016 as we add more opportunities for our church to serve our community and fulfill our mission."

Just what is that mission? The church's pursuit, states Whitfield, is "Believe the fullness of the gospel as revealed in the Scriptures. Belong to the family of God through biblical community. Become what God intended through gospel-centered transformation. Bring the good news of the gospel to the city of Jupiter and beyond." Fulfillment of this pursuit will be attained by Christ-centered worship and interpretive sermons based on the Scriptures.

Aside from Sunday service, a small group of worshippers meets throughout the week for Life-Groups. Whitfield discusses the group: "Our Life-Group ministry is where small groups of individuals, who either follow Jesus or are interested in learning more about him, gather for intimate discipleship through Bible discussion, prayer and sharing life with each other."

The LifeSong congregation and area residents come out for some fall fun and fundraising at the October Pumpkin Patch event. The pumpkins were first unloaded at the church for sale to the public on October 10 with a second load arriving on October 20. Pumpkins will be sold through October 31.

Newcomers to town or to the community take note. Whitfield has communicated a personal invitation to experience the LifeSong community firsthand, "If you're new to the area, please join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m."
