Jupiter Farms Yoga Calms The Mind And Strengthens The Body

At Jupiter Farms Yoga, next door to Jupiter Farms Massage, clients find a space for calm and tranquility. Yoga calms the mind and strengthens the body.

"You can actually feel the calming energy upon entering either studio," original owner and creator Lisa Koltun said. "Our classes offer a variety of yoga styles from Gentle, Restorative and Chair Yoga to more challenging classes of Core and Slow Flow. Often the class depends on who is in attendance and what the general mood is."

Just eight years ago, the space was an empty storefront in Jupiter FL, a sight that prompted Koltun to think about opening a yoga studio.

"A thought crossed my mind how wonderful it would be if yoga was brought to the local community," Koltun said. "I dared to post a sign 'coming soon: Yoga. Pilates. Meditation' and took the weekend off to visit family out of state. On my way home I received a call from a local acupuncturist whose yogi girlfriend was interested in opening a yoga studio."

Today, the studio is a nonjudgemental and encouraging space where students can attain physical flexibility and inner mental peace. Koltun was fortunate, she says, in finding yoga teachers who are both talented and welcoming to students. Many have gone through the teacher training program at the studio itself.

The yoga classes range from gentle, restorative and chair yoga to hatha and slow flow, which are more challenging. A new addition to the class offerings is a Qi Gong workshop.

"The gentle exercise movements help to stretch your body and increase circulation while helping to build awareness of your body moving through space," Koltun said. "Meditation is an important ending to our sessions."

Special events include Yoga Nidra, where students learn spiritual awakening and well being through deep relaxation; sound healing meditation with quartz crystal singing bowls, and the Beginners' Yoga Series. Chakra workshops with chanting, asana or yoga poses, vibrational healing with sound and meditation rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit.

Cleanse, detox and purify workshops use breathing, yoga and meditation to release suppressed emotions, anxiety and stress, and to promote clarity of mind. They also cleanse the liver and increase range of motion and flexibility. These workshops leave you feeling energized and creative, and ready to achieve your goals.

Students find that the yoga practice at the studio helps them to achieve a peaceful, balanced and healthy lifestyle. The classes also help those recovering from emotional and physical traumas. The routines are changed all the time so there's always something to look forward to and the classes never get boring. As Koltun says, the classes are as flexible as yoga itself.
