I Am Elite Krav Maga Teaches Miami Residents the Best Self Defense in the World

By Marina I. Jokic

I Am Elite Krav Maga is a specialized training studio in Miami that teaches the Krav Maga self-defense technique, a martial art developed by the Israeli Defense Forces and currently used by law enforcement, military, and Special Forces around the world. I Am Elite Krav Maga is owned and operated by Jean Jacques Amat and Adam D. Mait, a legal guru and Krav Maga Boot Camp instructor who has been training for years.

Mait is a true believer in the power of Krav Maga. "It is, simply put, the best self-defense in the world," he says. Not only has it been instrumental in training military and Special Forces personnel, but it provides an accessible way for regular people to learn to defend themselves and get in shape. It's no secret that losing weight and exercising regularly can be a drag for many people.

Mait promises that Krav Maga can change your stale relationship with exercise forever. A former Assistant State Attorney, in addition to his martial art expertise, he can also provide legal advice on the use of force and self-defense so that his students learn the legal limits of force.

"Krav Maga is a self-defense system that anyone and everyone can learn, regardless of size, strength, gender, or fitness level," points out Mait. In the classes, you will learn to target the most vulnerable points of an attacker's body, to disarm guns and knives, neutralize threats quickly and effectively, use nearby objects as defensive weapons and most of all, move quickly from defense to attack mode. A simple enough system to master fairly quickly, Krav Maga utilizes the body's natural instincts and reflexes.

"If you want to learn how to defend yourself and others, get in shape, lose weight, and have fun at the same time, then I Am Elite Krav Maga is perfect for you," Mait emphasizes. Going to the gym can become quite repetitive and downright tedious for many people. Incorporating a workout such as Krav Maga, Mait says, will add incredible variety to your exercise routine and push your body beyond its safety zone.

Classes are open to people from all levels of experience and are intentionally mixed. In that way, newcomers can learn from more seasoned practitioners, and the more experienced have a chance to practice and perfect their movements and techniques. Of course, the instructor tailors the training so that each student can have a rewarding experience and keep improving.

Mait is proud to be part of a team that trains law enforcement and military personnel?it's a service to the community that the studio considers essential. With respect to law enforcement and military, we consider it an honor that they come to us for training.

"We strive to not only help them enhance their pre-existing skill sets, but also to introduce them to new scenario-based techniques that they can use in the field," Mait adds. The civilian students enjoy sharing their class time with law enforcement and military?it supports their conviction that what the Krav Maga trainers are teaching is effective, pragmatic, and sought after by the best in the field.
