Guadalupe Radio Network Keeps Its Promise and Brings Listeners Holy Vocations

By Elisha Neubauer

The Guadalupe Radio Network comes from a strong Catholic foundation. They are part of the LaPromesa Foundation, a not for profit organization created by a group of loyal, devout Catholics who were looking to make a difference within their community. The radio network started out small, but has grown to cover a multitude of channels, networks, and resources across several states.

The Guadalupe Radio Network began in a small resource library located in Midland, Texas. It didn't take long before the network blossomed to house 32 Catholic radio stations in the state of Texas and Washington, DC, and 11 stations stretched between Florida and Alabama.

The radio network covers a specific programming content, all of which is designed specifically for their Catholic listenership. "The programming content heard across Guadalupe Radio Southeast is delivered by The EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network which counts over 500 affiliated stations in the U.S. and around the world," explains Dave Vacheresse. "The daily content is live and interactive and is hosted by some of the most talented Catholics in the country."

The programming is varied, so as to never stale, while still covering what their listeners want and need. 'Morning Glory,' a morning show broadcasted to the DC area from 6am-7am CST, covers news, information, and entertainment. 'The Doctor is In' is hosted by noted family psychologist and author Dr. Ray Guarendi (Canton, Ohio) and airs in the afternoons. 'Called TO Communion,' with Dr. David Anders (broadcast from Birmingham, AL), exposes non-Catholic listeners to the chance to ask their questions about the faith and have them answered in a safe, secure, and anonymous forum.

"Also included is a news and current events program titled, Kresta in the Afternoon (broadcast from Ann Arbor, Michigan) with veteran radio host, Al Kresta and the most popular of our program lineup, Catholic Answers Live, which is presented Monday through Friday from 5pm to 7pm central time and includes experts in various areas from around the world answering listeners questions in their area of expertise (broadcast live from San Diego, CA)," details Vacheresse.

As their website states, "[Guadalupe Radio] are here to serve the Church and we endeavor to lead souls back to Jesus Christ through His holy Catholic Church, through the use of the powerful medium of radio."
