Five Great Towns for Renters in Palm Beach County

By Tiffany Raiford

If you are planning on renting a home in Palm Beach County, you'll have a difficult choice ahead of you. With so many picturesque cities, towns and communities, it's impossible to choose just one location. They're all lovely, close to the water and close to plenty of other attractions. To help make your decision easier, you might want to consider these five great locations. Each one is near transportation, entertainment, the beach, and great schools.

Boca Raton

This is a great location for renters whose jobs keep them traveling often. With easy access to many of the major interstates and highways in Florida, as well as three major airports, it's easy for residents of Boca Raton to travel. Additionally, this oceanfront community is a great place to put down roots. It's home to Florida Atlantic University, plenty of beachfront rentals and gated communities. The downtown area of Boca is filled with entertainment venues that include everything from theaters to restaurants, bars, galleries and upscale shopping. The school district is impressive, and there are a number of parks and recreational facilities for families to take advantage of.

Delray Beach

Delray Beach is great for renters who work in the medical field. The hospital is the biggest employer in the area, providing more jobs to residents than any other businesses and corporations combined. With easy access to the beach, upscale shopping, high-end restaurants, and the Palm Beach Airport and A1A, Delray is a centrally located area in South Florida. From condos on the beach to apartments downtown and many gated communities with Florida's popular ranch-style homes, renters have several options when it comes to finding a home in this area.

Jupiter

If for no other reason than the fact that Jupiter holds the title of 9th happiest seaside town in the country as issued by Coastal Living back in 2012, you should rent in Jupiter. Many renters in this area work in other cities in West Palm Beach or even Miami, but the commute is easy with simple access to major interstates such as the Florida Turnpike and I-95. It's an oceanfront community that's home to many retired couples and commuters, as well as students who want to live outside the city. There are plenty of upscale shopping and dining establishments, beach and water activities and educational facilities in Jupiter.

West Palm Beach

What makes West Palm a great location for renters is the number of available homes in the area, the proximity to major businesses and the transportation and education systems. It's a large city with almost 100,000 residents. Located right on the water, this is the kind of community in which you can rent a house in a gated community along the ocean, the inlet or one of the many small lakes or ponds in the area. West Palm Beach has the 11th largest school district in the country, and it includes some of the most well-known magnate schools in all of Florida, making it a great location for families with children. Additionally, it is home to several major college campuses, including Keiser.

Wellington

Wellington is half the size of West Palm Beach, but that doesn't make it any less desirable for renters. If you are an equestrian lover with ties to racing and other equestrian events, this is the place to rent. Additionally, BE Aerospace houses its headquarters here, which means many of the employees of this large corporation call Wellington home. Public transportation is available, though not as much so as in large communities. However, Wellington boasts some of the best elementary schools in the state, as well as more polo events than any other place in Florida. Most communities are upscale, gated communities adjacent to country clubs, golf courses, and high-end shopping and entertainment.

Whatever you are looking for in Palm Beach County, you will find in one of these oceanfront communities. From easy access to interstates, railways, airports, and even the ocean, it's simple to get in and out, to and from work, and to the places you want to enjoy the most.
