Five Best Towns for Renters in Broward County

By Tiffany Raiford

Broward County is filled with lovely cities and towns perfect for buyers and renters alike. It's a renters dream to live in this area of Florida as so many of the homeowners here are not permanent residents. Many live here part time, making homes available throughout the majority of the year. Others simply want to retire here and already have a second home that they're happy to rent until they're prepared to retire and make the move. You'll find plenty of inventory to choose from when it comes to renting in this Florida County.

Coconut Creek

What makes Coconut Creek one of the best neighborhoods for renters is the fact that it's a carefully planned community. Renters who choose the many available homes in this city do so because of the strict environmental laws and many lovely parks that exist within the community. It's here you will find neighborhoods that consist of custom homes, Florida landscaping and careful architecture. Many owners live further north, which is why there are so many homes for rent in the area.

Coral Springs

Real estate in Coral Springs is premium, which is why so many investors and residents of other areas pick up homes here. They know that no matter what, someone is always going to want to rent a home here for some reason or another. Part of the appeal for renters is that you get to live in a city in which there are strict ordinances that place an importance on aesthetic appeal. This means lawns, homes, roads, and most everything else in the area is properly maintained at all time, making sure you live in a lovely area you're not ashamed to call home. There's also a myriad of different entertainment venues and nearby beaches.

Hollywood is a unique city in South Florida. Here you'll find thousands of rentals that range from custom homes in gated communities to condos on the water. You'll find that the city is big in the arts, the schools are great and your commute to work (whether that's in an office or on the golf course) is pretty enjoyable. Hollywood is home to plenty of water sports and opportunities for outdoor living that most renters are looking for.

Fort Lauderdale

If you have children, Fort Lauderdale is a great place to live. The vast majority of neighborhoods here are equipped with gorgeous parks, sidewalks on which you can take the kids for bike rides, beaches, and plenty of good schools. Renters will find neighborhoods that are well established as well as those that are newer and more family-friendly. There's plenty of adult entertainment in the way of bistros, wine bars and restaurants as well.

Yet another wonderful neighborhood for families. Plantation is a lovely community with plenty of waterfront living and an atmosphere in which you'll want to raise your family. Even if you're starting out as a renter, you might find you want to make your residence here a bit more permanent. You'll find that your rental options are numerous as the real estate market here is highly competitive.

Renting in Broward County is always a good idea. You'll get a feel for the communities, what you want in a South Florida home and where you really want to be. When it's time for you to consider buying something and making a more permanent home base, you'll know exactly what you want.
