Dazzling Art, Retro Fashion, and Eclectic Music Abound at St. Pete's ARTPool Gallery

By Paul Rowe

St. Pete's ARTPool Gallery has it all, from vintage clothing for men and women, local art, handmade jewelry, a vinyl record shop, café, all the way down to the beer and wine bar.

ARTPool Gallery takes pride in creating unique opportunities for locals to support independent designers and artists and experience monthly openings and collaborative events featuring live art, fashion runway shows, local bands, and one-of-a-kind performance art.

In addition to this passionate embrace of intersectional art across various genres, ARTPool sells home goods and hosts monthly outdoor markets for locals to set up and sell their own distinctive items. For the last fifteen years, ART Pool has explored vast treasure troves of paraphernalia, searching for coveted gems amongst a sea of odds and ends. With this kind of variety, locals can be sure to find an uncommon gift for themselves or the people they care about with each and every visit. Art lovers who can't make it out to the shop enjoy finding art at the Gallery's vintage online store offering worldwide shipments.

Creative expression is important for every individual, but not everyone is creative. "For this reason we are thankful for the art appreciators who love supporting local, emerging artisans at our space," say owners Marina and Evan Williams.

Opening this kind of shop is a labor of love. "I always loved so many funky, unique, and different eras and decades and went to school for art & design so mixing art, wearable art, and art for the home came naturally to me," says Marina Williams.

Seeking to add some edible flavor to their already-flourishing smorgasbord of varieties and colors, ARTPool added a cafe where guests could hang out longer. This spot offers many tasty options for vegetarians, vegans, meat eaters, and gluten free folks, serving rich coffee, a vast selection of teas, over thirty craft beers, sangria, and mimosas to boot.

ARTPool's outdoor independent art market aptly dubbed "Crafty Fest" runs from September through June each year. This October the Gallery is proudly presenting the art and music fashion event "Dia De Los Muertos," featuring a Sugar Skull fashion show, a spectacular body art runway exhibition, and a "Monster Mash" Halloween costume party.

Each ARTPool adventure is totally unique, yet locals are guaranteed to find work from Tampa Bay's best artisans, artful shopping opportunities, a great cup of coffee, and funky sights galore at the shop and gallery on a daily basis. St. Pete has warmly embraced this sort of artsy fun.
