Why do people choose to go to a custom fitness center instead of a gym? Owners Nic Alonso and Mandi Johnson feel this is because "Custom Movement Fitness is a community involved fitness boutique. We strive to create a community that supports for all members in a friendly non-intimidating environment. We offer small group fitness classes, personal training, nutritional guidance and monthly workshops. We take the mind, body and spirit and put them all together to create a healthy lifestyle. We promote positive attitudes and affirmations to take with you throughout your daily life."
And then there's Connor. "We also have a therapy dog named Connor on staff to help with those bad and good days." Custom Movement Fitness differs from other gyms in many ways. New visitors are introduced to all other members and staff. Small group classes make for a more personal workout experience, as coaches are able to give each person special attention. They can ensure that everyone is using correct form, to avoid injuries. Small class sizes also help coaches tailor each session to personal physical limitations and goals.
Because of the small sizes, Nic and Mandi add, "All classes are open for all fitness levels. All staff members and trainers have a bachelor's degree and proper certifications. If your goal is weight-loss, rehabilitation, training for a triathlon, or overall quality of life we have something here for you." New members receive a free consultation so that they can pick the right classes for their fitness levels and personal goals.
Popular classes are intro yoga for beginners, total body tone, Sassy and Clasdy, and Thrust! Intro yoga is for beginners or someone needing rehabilitation after an injury. The poses are done while sitting on chairs, and prepare for more advanced classes. Total body tone is a one hour strength and conditioning workout which burns 1200 calories, using bodyweight exercises, free weights, TRX, and functional movement patterns.
Sassy & Classy is a low-impact workout with elements of chair dance, go-go, Latin dance and burlesque. Participants learn choreography, gain confidence and have a whole lot of fun. Thrust! was created by Mandi Johnson and is one of the hardest classes, with cardio and strength sections. The high intensity interval training has a hard rock soundtrack.
Custom Movement Fitness also offers nutritional packages with diet guidelines, recipes for the proper nutrition to meet your personal health and fitness goals, and accountability through a food journal.
Clients value the expertise and individualized attention provided by the trainers:
