A Sculpture Gallery for Traditional American Instruments

By David Boegaard

Wolfe Guitars has grown 30 years deep in the soil of Jupiter, Florida. Specializing in traditional American instruments, and with a large range of new and reconditioned string instruments, both electric and acoustic, Wolfe Guitars is a guitar-lover's paradise. And if your classic instrument is sounding a bit flat, they are proud to have one of the most technologically advanced repair facilities in the South-East.

Jay Wolfe, the Founder and Owner of Wolfe Guitars started his love affair with guitars at an early age. "I've been playing Guitar since I was 12," Wolfe says. But it wasn't until he had become a man that Wolfe decided to turn his recreation into a trade. He hasn't looked back since. "I enjoy the instruments and the folks that play them," says Wolfe. "Most of my friends were customers first."

But while guitars are Wolfe's business, Wolfe Guitars is in it for the love. "Guitars are 3 dimensional Art," Wolfe says. I might add that they're 4 dimensional art -- not only are they beautiful sculptures, but they make music in time. Wolfe's doesn't carry every string instrument, just the ones they love. "We specialize in fine American made instruments that are priced fairly and are instruments we like and respect."

Wolfe's employs knowledgeable people. The staff has a combined total of "over 80 years experience and knowledge," touts Wolfe. And it's that level of experience that makes Wolfe Guitars such a great place to go to buy a new instrument. "A specialty of our shop is assisting folks of all ages in selecting their first guitar, or a step up instrument," says Wolfe. But if you step into Wolfe Guitars, you won't feel like you're walking into a library with stern librarians, notes Wolfe. "We truly enjoy this aspect of our business."

The experts at Wolfe Guitars do not limit their work to displaying the right instrument and guiding customers to the right fit for their desires. Wolfe Guitars also hosts an excellent instrument repair shop, with the only PLEK machine in the South East (above).

Wolfe loves the guitar not only because of its beauty, of course, but because they're such wonderful, versatile instruments. The guitar, says Wolfe, "is relatively easy to learn, you can progress at your own pace, they're terrific for vocal accompaniment, they're quite portable and you can play any style of music."

So if you're looking for a guitar or other stringed instrument, drop into Wolfe Guitars. Even if you're just curious about the guitar, a stop at Wolfe's might change your life for the better. "It's great fun and an inexpensive lifetime hobby," notes Wolfe. And cheaper than golf.
