450 Years of History and Ghosts Presented by Segs by the Sea

By Elizabeth R. Elstien

St. Augustine has a 450-year history spanning its founding by the Spanish to pirates and Martin Luther King Jr. However you look at it, this city has an amazing history. So, why not enjoy it on a Segway and go on an adventure you will always remember with Segs by the Sea.

St Augustine is the considered the oldest city in America. Tour guide and owner Lindsay Martin describes the city, "This quaint city is jam packed with exciting things to experience in a safe and family friendly environment, as the history here runs deep." Experience its early colonial past by taking the Oldest City History Glide that also covers early Florida statehood, civil rights in the 1960s and on into modern times.

It's not too late to plan your next Halloween, but who says Halloween has to end in October. The owners and employees of Segs by the Sea tour company should know, as the company has its base in a haunted funeral home and provides ghostly glides to haunted places. Explore the paranormal right here. Martin explains, "Guests can be a part of an actual ongoing paranormal investigation, compiling evidence that spirits sometimes linger on, just 'as seen on TV'". Go exploring on the nighttime Island Psycho Ghostly Glide tour past haunted places. How fitting for a town considered the third most haunted in the United States.

Group or private Segway tours are available and all glides are two hours. "We are all licensed Tour Guides by the City of St Augustine with extensive knowledge of the history," Martin explains." Our mission is to share information with our guests in an animated and exciting way."

This is fantastic fun for the whole family and a novel way to get around. Other tours include those for the power Segway user or the Rise and Shine glide. Take a selfie on a Segway for a truly memorable moment of your adventure. Of course, there are also walking tours for those who are better balanced on foot.

"We care about our guests safety and their overall experience, notes Martin. "This is reflected in our Trip Advisor reviews and by the number of repeat guests that come back to see us every time they are in town, and by our locals that tour with us whenever they have family and friends visiting. We love seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends every day!"
